Why Get Retaining Walls

Retaining walls are typically used in areas that require extra support. the main function of a retaining wall is to either retain the area behind said wall or level out an area. That being said, there are a lot of other reasons to go with retaining walls.

Retaining Walls Up Curb Appeal

Simply put, retaining walls look gorgeous. They add a bit of grandeur to your property and give your yard a custom touch that your neighbours just don’t have. The contrast between the stone wall and your natural landscape can work wonders for your property and its value. We will ensure your retaining wall flows naturally with the other features of your yard to produce eye-popping results.

Add Function to Your Yard

Hills and slopes can look nice in your backyard, but they can take up precious space and they’re often difficult to landscape. By taking advantage of our experience at Manscapers Landscaping, you can have a sequence of retaining walls that add functional space to your yard. You can even use them to showcase your patio, water feature, or garden more aesthetically.

Prevent Soil Erosion

Erosion is a constant factor in Edmonton landscaping. Given our precipitation levels, retaining walls are all the more important. By adding extra support for your soil, you avoid surface runoff by essentially eliminating sharp gradients in your backyard. This changes how water (and melting snow) travels, thereby putting a stop to erosion. Also, a well done retaining wall can actually reduce the gradient through terracing to allow water to soak into your soil (which is healthy) rather than run off the surface (which does you no good).
